No matter how hard they try, Dan and Lyle can’t escape election news. That’s OK. As much of a high-school circus show as it is, it’s still important. In this week’s episode of Beer & Bros., the two discuss the presidential primary system and then go on to talk about the candidates. How does Donald Trump’s “manhood” factor into the debate process? Will we elect another Millard Fillmore?
The Supreme Court of the United States lost an Associate Justice on February 13th of this year. Antonin Scalia was appointed to the court by President Ronald Reagan in 1986. During his time in the Supreme Court, Scalia was known as an anchor of its conservative wing. On this episode of Beer & Bros., Dan and Lyle talk about Justice Scalia’s time with the Supreme Court as well as a few anecdotal stories about his time as a college professor. Click the play button and give it a listen.
Recent revelations in the news regarding Peyton Manning and alleged sexual assault while he was in college inspired us to do some research and talk about sexual harassment in college for this week’s show. The Super Bowl is coming up, and with a viewership of approximately 1 in every 3 Americans, this is news. On Sunday, February 7th, the Carolina Panthers will face the Denver Broncos in what may be Peyton Manning’s last time in the huddle. Dan, an ad man, and Lyle, a football guy, discuss Super Bowl L, er 50, in this week’s Beer & Bros. podcast.
This week on the show Dan and Lyle discuss Bernie Sanders. You know the guy, older fellow, crazy white hair, glasses … yeah, that’s the guy. Up until 2015 he was an Independent, but he switched to the Democrat party so that he could run for president. Really, what chance does an Independent have, right? Give us 30 minutes and you’ll learn a bit about this presidential hopeful.
Hi, folks; Dan here. I write all of the show notes for Beer & Bros., but I wanted to include a personal note here to let you know about my fascination with Donald Trump. I don’t want him to be president; I just can’t get enough of his showmanship. For that reason, this week on the show Lyle and I discuss some of his more recent “newsworthy” moments. From being called a wazzock to getting endorsed by the daughter of John Wayne (kind of), have a listen to our roundup of this week in Trump.
