After several shows featuring serious and divisive topics like immigration, government assistance, gay marriage, and insanity, the guys decided to tone it down for a bit. You may not know it, though they have very different tastes, Dan and Lyle are both big car guys. So, instead of talking about police brutality again, the two discuss some of their favorite cars. Have a read and listen to see if you like the same cars as our hosts. (Explicit Language)
Lyle is a fan of traditional muscle cars. What started as a top 10 list quickly turned into 15, and even more were included in discussion. Dan, on the other hand, has a taste for cars that are a bit more eccentric – matching his own personality. Sure, he likes muscle cars too, and some are even on his list, but it’s dominated by small imports with even smaller engines.
The following is a sample of the cars featured on each host’s list.
Ford Mustang – the host with this on his list said the cars were beautiful when the 64 ½ model was introduced. Then, in the 70’s, like every other car, they got ugly. Unfortunately, they stayed ugly through the 80’s and 90’s. Eventually, around 2000 or so, the Mustang started to look good again.
Volkswagen Karmann Ghia – this car is, in the host’s opinion, one of the sexiest cars ever produced. Long lines from the headlights all the way back and beautiful curves. The interior, however, is another story.
Chevrolet Camaro – somehow or another, this car managed to make its way into the lists more than once. The original version and the modern iteration both have a special place in the heart of the host who included the Camaro on his list. Also, he has been known to visit Chevrolet dealerships on Saturdays, just to go for a test drive.
Dodge Challenger – the original. The throwback version that is currently in production didn’t even get a mention from the host who had this car on his list.
Saab 900 – the host who picked this car is a fanatic, even going so far as to own two of them.
To find out which car goes with which list, and to hear the guys talk about all of their favorite cars, you’ll have to listen to the show.
