Rick is joined this week by noted artist, Lee Wybranski. Lee Wybranski has been a professional artist since 1992. He formed his company in Philadelphia in 1995 (then known as Group W Art Works) as a fine art and graphic design studio and the exclusive publisher and agent for his work. On January 2, 2012, the business opened doors at its new location in Flagstaff, Arizona, and in 2013 the business changed names from Group W Art Works to Lee Wybranski Art & Design (LWAD).
Since establishing the studio, Wybranski has completed numerous commissioned artworks and published editions related to the game of golf, including landscapes, portraits, and event posters. His portfolio includes commissioned artwork for clients ranging from the National Golf Links of America to Polo Ralph Lauren to the Walker Cup.
Recent projects include the posters for last year’s U.S. Open Championships at Chambers Bay and this year’s at Oakmont; the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews and the 2016 Open at Royal Troon. and last year’s PGA Championship at Whistling Straits and this year’s at Baltusrol. He also has produced hand-painted course guides for Cabot Links in Canada and the Old Course at St. Andrews, and will be doing two pieces for the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine Golf Club in Minneapolis—the official poster as well as a special team poster that can’t be completed until both teams are finalized, so it will be finished immediately before the matches begin.
LWAD is also a design house, specializing in logo development, branding and printing for golf clubs and tournaments. The firm has worked with the USGA since 2003, designing many championship logos including the official U.S. Open logos since 2004. LWAD is currently designing the logo for the 100th PGA Championship in 2017 at Bellerive, and they have also worked to design and develop the branding of numerous private clubs such as Merion, Eastward Ho, and Waterville.
