Beer & Bros. Podcast is back after a one-week hiatus. This isn’t the type of podcast where we like to beat a dead horse, but this week, Lyle and I talk about Donald Trump. Again. In our defense, we’re not really beating a dead horse, because this one (his campaign antics) just won’t die. This time around, we are discussing his new immigration plan. Also in this episode, I have computer trouble and get flustered. Click play and have a listen.
Donald Trump’s new immigration plan really isn’t as crazy as much of the media would have you believe. During a speech in Youngstown, Ohio, the candidate explained his new screening test for prospective immigrants. He calls it “extreme, extreme vetting.” The purpose of the test would be to keep out people who don’t share our “American values.” Until his test is ready, though, Trump suggests we should temporarily suspend all immigration from countries most likely to produce terrorists.
But, which countries are those?
Well, that’s kind of a hazy subject. Without giving specifics, he suggested that countries in the Middle East such as Syria and Afghanistan may be among those temporarily banned. His plan is to have the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security identify regions where screening is not possible.
Other countries that may be on the list include those where terror attacks have recently occurred such as France and Belgium. Lyle had some interesting thoughts on this subject. Be sure to listen out for them.
